Government Education Resources

Here are some tips for locating and using government-run education departments.  If you need assistance finding sources for the country you have chosen, feel free to contact the Jackson Library and we will gladly help you.

  • A simple web-search for "Department of Education of Your Country" or "Ministry of Education of Your Country" will typically yield useful results.  Remember that the Generative AI results that sometimes appear at the top of a Google search may not always provide accurate or in-date links.
  • If this fails, searching Wikipedia for "Education in Your Country" may provide further information that can lead you to their website by checking the sources at the bottom of the page.
  • Another tip is to find the website for the government and see if they have a link to their education department somewhere on the front page.
  • Most government education websites make statistics about their education system, as well as policies and curriculum requirements available to the public.  Keep in mind that some do not, and you may have to look at other sources like international organizations to find this information.

International Education Organizations

Here are some major international organizations that produce papers and statistics that may help with your research for this course.

UNESCO:  The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is an agency aimed at promoting world peace and international cooperation through improving the Arts, Education, Science, and Culture.
